League recap: Seton Catholic tops Chinle to extend winning streak

Seton Catholic extended the longest winning streak in IV Section II this week by beating Chinle, 61-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.

Seton Catholic took down the Wildcats 61-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ryan Bresnahan threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 81 yards in the win.

Rex Bowser's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Eric Probst helped Seton Catholic's passing attack out by catching one ball for 24 yards.

Daniel Garlid was the best wideout in the league this week as the Sentinels topped Chinle. Garlid racked up five receptions for 148 yards.

Jacob Gillespie made the biggest impact on defense this week as Seton Catholic beat Tim Su'e Su'e Liufau's team. The 5-foot-9 senior recorded one fumble.

6-foot-2 quarterback Nick Prueher of Combs is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1644. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. On the ground, Florence's Nick Brown has rushed for 1351 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Matt Haggerty. The Seton Catholic star has 51 catches for 802 yards.

Empire's Chance Hatfield is a mere 13 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Hatfield has rushed for 987 yards on 149 carries so far this year.

The Ravens made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,155 from 8,509. The advance stemmed from a 28-21 victory over Estrella Foothills last week.
