Basketball Recap: Daniel Extends Winning Streak to Four

Daniel had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 61-39 margin over the Pickens Blue Flame. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

Daniel's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Swann, who posted ten points. Swann is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Simms Disbrow, who put up 13 points and five assists.

Daniel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Will Stone and Eli Doty certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Stone had seven points, while Doty scored eight points. Those seven points gave Stone a new career-high.

Daniel has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Pickens, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

Daniel has already played their next contest, a 90-40 win against West-Oak on the 24th. As for Pickens, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 87-31 defeat against Seneca on the 24th.
