Basketball Recap: Millers Creek Christian Gets the Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Millers Creek Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They slipped by the University Christian Barracudas 41-40. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 35-27 back in November.

Millers Creek Christian found their leader in freshman Julian Houpe, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Brenyn Welborn, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

The win got Millers Creek Christian back to even at 4-4. As for University Christian, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Millers Creek Christian will take on Varsity Opponent in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. As for University Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
