Softball Recap: St. Bede Takes a Loss

St. Bede fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Henry-Senachwine on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mallards by a score of 3-2. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mallards apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Macy Strauch spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lily Bosnich made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Bede and nudges their season record down to 11-7. As for Henry-Senachwine, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

While St. Bede had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
