Softball Game Preview: Northwood Falcons vs. Parkway Panthers

The Northwood Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Parkway Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Northwood fell victim to Haughton and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Buccaneers. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Northwood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzie Jagers, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Parkway came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cougars a 10-0 shutout.

Northwood has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Parkway, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8.

Northwood suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Parkway when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
