It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Paw Paw ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Otsego Bulldogs 2-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 11-0 win on May 6th.
Lauren MacKellar spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Elizabeth Vanderburg was excellent, going 2-for-5 with one home run and one double. Another player making a difference was Stella Shaefer, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Paw Paw is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 17-2-2 record this season. As for Otsego, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-11.
