Lakewood Ranch is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand East Lake a 1-0 shutout. The Mustangs' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five games.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They blew past the Cowboys 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won 14 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

St. Thomas Aquinas' victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those nine contests. As for Lakewood Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
