Football Recap: Fruitland Grizzlies vs. Kimberly Bulldogs

After flying high against Teton last Friday, Fruitland came back down to earth. The Fruitland Grizzlies and the Kimberly Bulldogs were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Fruitland Grizzlies suffered a 27-26 defeat. The Grizzlies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August.

When it comes to explaining why Fruitland lost, don't look at Titus Vidlak. Despite the final result, he threw for 229 yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

Macraye Bruning was his usual excellent self, throwing for 194 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 56 yards and a touchdown for Kimberly. Joe Barrett was another key player, picking up 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Fruitland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Kimberly, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Fruitland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kimberly, they will take on Sugar-Salem at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday. Sugar-Salem has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 149 points over their last three games.
