Baseball Recap: Mid Valley Spartans vs. Dunmore Bucks
It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Mid Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Dunmore Bucks 7-6. The win was some much needed relief for Mid Valley as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Brett Yanoski was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Balashaitis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Mid Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Dunmore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.
Mid Valley will be playing at home against Western Wayne at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dunmore, they will head out on the road to challenge Lakeland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
