Divine Child waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Melvindale Cardinals a 7-0 shutout. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Divine Child's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Melvindale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

Divine Child will challenge Walled Lake Northern at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Melvindale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
