Schroon Lake waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 52-43 win over the Boquet Valley Griffins. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Griffins are ranked 622nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Boquet Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Leibeck, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Leibeck's evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Henry Gibson was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Schroon Lake's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. As for Boquet Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

Schroon Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-71 win against Loudonville Christian on the 1st. As for Boquet Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-45 loss against Northeastern Clinton on the 3rd.
