The Canby Cougars will challenge the Hillsboro Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canby is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.

Canby took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over Putnam. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Canby considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Their offense was hitting Putnam from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Isaiah Martinez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Hillsboro's offense. They lost 4-0 to Hood River Valley on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for Hillsboro in their meetings with Hood River Valley: they've now lost three in a row.

Canby has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four contests. As for Hillsboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Everything went Canby's way against Hillsboro in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Canby made off with a 6-2 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
