Recap: West Caldwell Warriors vs. Maiden Blue Devils

If the West Caldwell Warriors were feeling good off their 85-60 takedown of the Bunker Hill Bears last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. West Caldwell took a 71-53 bruising from Maiden on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Caldwell has scored all season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jay Maxwell, who scored nine points along with six assists and six steals. Another player making a difference was Zion Thomas, who scored 14 points along with four steals.

Leading Maiden to victory were Lincoln Frasure and Raheim Misher. Frasure went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists, while Misher dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Frasure has scored all season. Cross Arias was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.

West Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Maiden, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Caldwell will take on West Lincoln at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Lincoln is coming into the match with seven straight losses on the road, meaning West Caldwell will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Maiden, they will be playing at home against Bunker Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bunker Hill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 260 points over their last four matches.
