Softball Game Preview: Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] Cougars vs. Carrington Cardinals

The Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] Cougars will face off against the Carrington Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Carrington took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky], who comes in off a win.

Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Wilton/Wing, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars blew past the Miners 12-3 on Tuesday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Miners recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

River Fylling was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Fylling was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] let Mya Kittler and Daphne Lauer run wild. Kittler scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-4, while Lauer scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Emry Hunt, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Carrington's offense. They came up short against Velva/Drake/Anamoose on Thursday, falling 9-0.
