Basketball Recap: St. Anthony Comes Up Short

If St. Anthony was feeling good fresh off their 79-57 takedown of Ocean View on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saints took an 81-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks on Friday. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Nighthawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

St. Anthony now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Murrieta Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

St. Anthony has already played their next game (against Laguna Beach), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Murrieta Valley, they will face off against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
