Baseball Recap: El Monte Takes a Loss

El Monte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 27th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 12-2 to the Arroyo Knights. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Isaiah Standley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Manuel Montelongo also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

El Monte's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Arroyo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. El Monte is set to take on their familiar foe Gabrielino at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Arroyo will face off against rival Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
