Basketball Recap: Chambers Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Chambers, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They secured a 63-58 W over the West Mecklenburg Hawks on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

West Mecklenburg lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Josiah Bridges, who went 7-for-9 to rack up 16 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Nasir White, who shot 54% from the field on his way to 16 points.

Chambers pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for West Mecklenburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

The Comets have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for West Mecklenburg, they will be playing at home against West Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' defense better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 54.5 points per game this season.
