Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Bison vs. Denver West Cowboys
In what's become a running theme this season, the Vista PEAK Prep Bison gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They really took it to Denver West for the full four quarters, racking up a 83-40 win on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-25.
Vista PEAK Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Brown III led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Julian Carrizales, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Denver West lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Dallas. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Angel Morales-Torres was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Vista PEAK Prep is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Denver West, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vista PEAK Prep will take on Green Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Green Mountain has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 982 points over their last 14 matches. As for Denver West, they will head out on the road to challenge Kennedy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
