Football Recap: North Platte Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lincoln Northeast

North Platte scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 35-27 to the Lincoln Northeast Rockets. The Bulldogs gained 87 more yards on the day, but it was the Rockets that made the best use of them.

Carter Still threw for 42 yards. Tyler Haneborg was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards. On the ground, Keeghan Clouse rushed for 85 yards and a pair of scores.

Grant Matson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 92 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 135 yards and one TD for Lincoln Northeast. That's the most rushing touchdowns Matson has posted since back in September of 2024. Tyrin Buckley got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

North Platte is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for Lincoln Northeast, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Platte will welcome Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln Northeast, they will host Omaha North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Rockets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
