Preview: Hurricane Tigers vs. Grantsville Cowboys
The Hurricane Tigers and the Grantsville Cowboys will face off at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hurricane is hoping to put an end to a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Thursday, Hurricane earned a 58-51 victory over Panguitch.
Hurricane can attribute much of their success to Brigham Kemp, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals, and Cayleb Jackman, who almost dropped a triple-double on 22 points, 15 rebounds, and nine blocks. That makes it five consecutive games in which Jackman has scored at least 25% of Hurricane's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rj Hurst, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Grantsville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Canyon View 71-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Hurricane's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Grantsville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
