Basketball Recap: Wallkill Takes a Loss

Wallkill lost against Goshen Central back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wallkill Panthers took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Goshen Central Gladiators. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Wallkill lost, don't look at Alex Marshall. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Marshall a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Sean Petricek, who earned six points and seven boards.

Wallkill's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Goshen Central, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Wallkill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-38 loss against Roosevelt on the 16th. Goshen Central has also already played their next game, a 52-43 win against Middletown on the 14th.
