Softball Recap: Buchanan Comes Up Short

After flying high against Central East on Friday, Buchanan came back down to earth. The Bears fell just short of the Clovis West Golden Eagles by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bears have suffered since April 14, 2025.

Buchanan's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Clovis West, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-8 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Buchanan will take on rival Clovis North at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 3.2, the Broncos 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Clovis West is set to challenge their familiar foe Clovis at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Considering the Golden Eagles have lost three straight at home and the Cougars five straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
