Basketball Recap: Richland Takes a Loss

Richland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Colleyville Heritage Panthers. The Royals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 34-31.

Colleyville Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samari Stevenson led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to 14 boards and three blocks. Stevenson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Landyn Blueitt was another key player, going 6 of 11 on her way to 12 points.

Richland's defeat dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Colleyville Heritage, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-19.

As of now, neither Richland nor Colleyville Heritage have any future games scheduled.
