Baseball Recap: Watertown-Mayer Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Watertown-Mayer lost to Annandale back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Royals had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Royals.

Watertown-Mayer's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for Annandale, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Watertown-Mayer will challenge Holy Family Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Annandale, they will face off against Central at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
