Preview: Ardrey Kell Knights vs. Berry Cardinal
Ardrey Kell is 10-0 against Berry since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ardrey Kell Knights will be home for the holidays to greet the Berry Cardinal at 7:30 p.m. Ardrey Kell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully Berry likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Ardrey Kell beat Marvin Ridge 62-54.
Ardrey Kell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Caskey, who scored 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Caskey has scored at least 25% of Ardrey Kell's points. Brett Freeman was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Berry's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They lost to South Mecklenburg at home by a decisive 75-59 margin. Berry has struggled against South Mecklenburg recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Ardrey Kell pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Berry, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Ardrey Kell beat Berry 54-44 in their previous matchup back in February. Will Ardrey Kell repeat their success, or does Berry have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
