Newton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 61-50 victory over the Eisenhower Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-41 back in January.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Romari Howard, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 13 points and seven boards. Howard is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last seven games he's played. Cooper Rohr also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Newton now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Eisenhower, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton will square off against Goddard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Newton has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 189 points over their last three games. As for Eisenhower, they will challenge Salina Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eisenhower is facing Salina Central at the right time seeing as Salina Central is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
