Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newman Central Catholic). They blew past the Kewanee Boilermakers 21-3 on Thursday. Considering the Comets have won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Michael Morse and Garet Wolfe made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Morse tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Meanwhile, Wolfe tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Morse has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Morse went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double, while Wolfe got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
