Baseball Recap: Blythewood's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to 12

Blythewood waltzed into their contest on Friday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They blew past the White Knoll Timberwolves 9-3. This was payback for the Bengals, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Chase Rollings looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Alex Myers and Sammy Franklin did most of the damage at the plate: Myers scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Franklin scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Myers has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Porter Rummel, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Blythewood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White Knoll only managed eight hits.

Blythewood pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for White Knoll, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blythewood will square off against West Florence at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for White Knoll, they will face off against Irmo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
