Basketball Recap: Deary Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Deary can now relate to. They took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coeur du Christ Academy Saints on Saturday.

Coeur du Christ Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Connelly led the charge by shooting 41% from the field to rack up 26 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Connelly has scored at least a third of Coeur du Christ Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerome Cools, who went 5-for-6 on his way to 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Deary's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Coeur du Christ Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Deary does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Coeur du Christ Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 69-56 defeat against Dietrich on the 6th.
