Baseball Recap: St. Paul Sets Scoring Season-High Against New London

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Paul). They walked away with a 14-9 victory over the New London Wildcats on Monday. With that win, the Flyers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Izaac Snyder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over 5.1 innings pitched. Snyder was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, St. Paul let Gabe Snyder and Isaac Kalizewski run wild. Snyder went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs, while Kalizewski scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Snyder has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Landon Fries, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

St. Paul always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

The victory got St. Paul back to even at 2-2. As for New London, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

St. Paul will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
