Softball Recap: Rich Township Beats Thornton for Their Third Straight Victory

Rich Township extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 9-12 in the process. They put the hurt on the Thornton Wildcats with a sharp 21-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Raptors, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

ReAnn Clark was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Syriah Hill, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Rich Township always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. They are 9-3 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

As for Thornton, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 16 runs.

On Thornton's side, Anna Ochoa was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Ochoa has brought in this season. Tiana Watson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rich Township will square off against Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Thornton, they will challenge Bloom at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
