Volleyball Recap: Newington Nor'easters vs. Enfield Eagles

Newington faced Enfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Nor'easters fell 3-1 to the Eagles. The Nor'easters were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

Newington was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Enfield work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 18-25, 28-26, 25-21.

Nate Parlapiano paced Newington's offense, picking up 22 kills. Parlapiano got some help from Tristan Gorman and his 49 assists. Parlapiano was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Nathan Merrill, who had ten digs. That's the most digs he has posted over his last six matches.
