Basketball Recap: Globe's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After a string of six wins, Globe's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against the Miami Vandals, falling 70-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered since November 26th.

Globe lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Darius Pike, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Byron Shorty, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.

Even though they lost, Globe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Globe's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Miami, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Globe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-37 win against Hayden on the 14th. As for Miami, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-39 defeat against Agua Fria on the 14th.
