Basketball Game Preview: Chapman Irish vs. Sacred Heart Knights

Chapman and Sacred Heart are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Irish will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Chapman was able to grind out a solid victory over Clearwater, taking the game 41-31. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Irish.

Adelynn Kirkpatrick had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Jai Rogers, who posted ten points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 59-39 margin over Clifton-Clyde.

Chapman couldn't quite get it done against Sacred Heart when the teams last played back in December of 2024 as they fell 52-39. Can the Irish avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
