Basketball Game Preview: Lexington Minutemen vs. Mansfield Senior Tygers

The Lexington Minutemen will head out on the road to challenge the Mansfield Senior Tygers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Lexington was able to grind out a solid victory over Dover, taking the game 52-40. Given the Minutemen's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Crimson Tornadoes are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mansfield Senior, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They slipped by Ashland 72-71 on Friday.

Lexington's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Mansfield Senior, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Lexington didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Mansfield Senior in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 74-70 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lexington since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
