Baseball Recap: Lynbrook Comes Up Short

If Lynbrook was feeling good fresh off their 10-3 takedown of MacDonald last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fremont Firebirds on Tuesday. The Vikings have struggled against the Firebirds recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Lynbrook got a good showing from Savya Churi, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Ofir Kaser made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Lynbrook's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Fremont, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Lynbrook will challenge Saratoga at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fremont, they will venture away from home to challenge Monta Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Firebirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Matadors have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
