Basketball Recap: Dr. Krop Takes a Loss

Dr. Krop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the McArthur Mustangs, falling 64-41. The Lightning lost against the Mustangs in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 67-22 score last time.

McArthur got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ciara Sejour out in front who went 12 for 30 on her way to 29 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christie Chicoye, who went 9 of 21 on her way to 22 points and four steals.

Dr. Krop's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for McArthur, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dr. Krop will square off against Mourning at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for McArthur, they will face off against Monsignor Pace at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. McArthur's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Monsignor Pace's offense will have their work cut out for them.
