Preview: Monarch Knights vs. Northeast Hurricanes

Monarch has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Northeast Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Monarch beat West Broward 57-49. With that victory, Monarch brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.

Monarch's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cody Dinnall, who scored 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Dinnall also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Samari Reed, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Northeast stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 75-47 win over Everglades. The victory was some much needed relief for Northeast as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Monarch's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7. As for Northeast, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Monarch lost to Northeast at home by a decisive 57-41 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Monarch, Allen Omana (who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
