Basketball Recap: Wallkill Takes a Loss

After flying high against Onteora last Tuesday, Wallkill came back down to earth. The Wallkill Panthers fell just short of the Beacon Bulldogs by a score of 54-51 on Thursday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Wallkill still got an impressive performance from Zoe Mesuch, who almost dropped a double-double with 32 points and nine boards. That was a full 62.7% of Wallkill's points, marking the 19th time in a row Mesuch has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Wallkill's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Beacon, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

As of now, neither Wallkill nor Beacon have any future games scheduled.
