Volleyball Recap: Heritage Starts Season with Win on the Road

Heritage had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Norwell Knights 3-2 on Thursday. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Heritage was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-18, 24-26, 25-23, 15-12.

Heritage found their leader in freshman Kierstyn Hess, who had 18 digs and two aces.

Heritage was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Norwell still got an impressive performance from Bria Reinhard, who had 12 digs and two aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Norwell fell to 2-1.

Heritage has already played their next matchup (against East Noble), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Norwell, they will head out to challenge Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
