Football Game Preview: Pickerington North Panthers vs. Upper Arlington Golden Bears

The Pickerington North Panthers will challenge the Upper Arlington Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Upper Arlington will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Pickerington North extended their winning streak to nine last Friday. The Panthers claimed a resounding 35-0 win over Lincoln. The Panthers' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Pickerington North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarin Mock, who rushed for 51 yards and one score, and also threw for 77 yards and one TD on only seven passes. Andyriq Thomas was another key back, rushing for 66 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Pickerington North didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ryan Miller and Geo McKnight. McKnight is on a roll when it comes to interceptions, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Miller got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Upper Arlington had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Warhawks 37-0. The win continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their matchups with the Warhawks: they've now won five in a row.

Pickerington North's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Upper Arlington, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Pickerington North took their victory against Upper Arlington in their previous meeting back in September of 2023 by a conclusive 28-8 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Golden Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
