Baseball Recap: ALA - Ironwood Comes Up Short

ALA - Ironwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 9-5 to the Payson Longhorns. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-11 back in March.

Jackson Watson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Kayden Brais was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

ALA - Ironwood's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Payson, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7.

ALA - Ironwood has already played their next match, an 8-1 loss against Northwest Christian on the 11th. As for Payson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-2 defeat against Chinle on the 10th.
