Basketball Recap: Alief Taylor Skates Past George Ranch with Ease

Alief Taylor had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They really took it to the George Ranch Longhorns for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-38 victory. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alief Taylor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nataliyah Gray, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gray has scored at least a third of Alief Taylor's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samyra Williams, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 17 points and seven steals.

Alief Taylor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 29 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hailey Kulcak, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Stevens, who had seven points and five rebounds.

Alief Taylor is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for George Ranch, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-18.

As for George Ranch, they will host Alief Hastings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alief Hastings is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.
