Softball Recap: Akins Eagles vs. Churchill Chargers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hendrickson, Akins was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Churchill Chargers 6-5. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Aubriana Naven made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.
In other batting news, Allison Hernandez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Lillian Crider was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
