Northern Indiana recap Oct. 23, 2012

Penn extended the longest winning streak in Northern Indiana this week by beating Warsaw, 42-21. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Kingsmen.

Elkhart Central and Elkhart Memorial played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Elkhart Central eventually emerging with a 17-13 victory.

Elkhart Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Blazers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nick Faus has thrown for 2442 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while Spencer Schnell has 79 catches for 1169 yards. Akheem Purnell leads the league in rushing with 699 yards.

A big matchup in Northern Indiana this week will be when Adams takes on the Blazers. The Eagles are in second place, while Elkhart Central is in sixth place.

St. Joseph took down Knox 42-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
