After only 30 points in their last matchup, Meridian made sure to put some points up on the board against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City on Saturday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 69-47 win. The Hawks not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 6, 2025 (when they won 74-33).

When it comes to explaining why Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City lost, don't look at Griffin Vaughn. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-13 on his way to 15 points and five assists. Vaughn is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was August Cosart, who posted six points.

The victory snapped Meridian's losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 6-22 record. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season.

Meridian will challenge Shelbyville at 7:10 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.71 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they will venture away from home to take on Central A & M at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
