Basketball Game Preview: Vance Charter Knights vs. Franklin Academy Patriots + How To Watch

Vance Charter is 2-8 against Franklin Academy since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Vance Charter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Vance Charter is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They secured a 73-67 W over South Granville on Wednesday.

Gary Wilkins had a dynamite game, dropping a double-double with 26 points and 18 boards. The matchup was his third in a row with at least 26 points. Another player making a difference was Keyan Richardson, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 15 points.

Meanwhile, Franklin Academy blew past Research Triangle, posting a 73-36 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Vance Charter's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.1 points over those games. As for Franklin Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Vance Charter was able to grind out a solid victory over Franklin Academy in their previous matchup back in November, winning 64-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
