Basketball Game Preview: Anderson Trojans vs. Austin Maroons

Anderson is on a six-game streak of home losses, Austin a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Anderson Trojans will host the Austin Maroons at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Anderson ended up a good deal behind McCallum and lost 54-38. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 745th, while the Knights are ranked 272nd).

Meanwhile, Austin came up short against Akins on Tuesday and fell 63-56.

Anderson's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.

Anderson came out on top in a nail-biter against Austin when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 39-36. Does Anderson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Austin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
