Crockett County has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.78 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Gibson Hornets. The Cavaliers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Crockett County got a good showing from Emmalynn Medlin, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Wesley Thornton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Maddie Haynes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Crockett County's loss dropped their record down to 27-9. As for South Gibson, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
