Patterson Mill (Bel Air, Md.) jumped out to an early lead against
Harford Tech (Bel Air, Md.) and never looked back on the way to a 40-16 victory on Saturday.
Patterson Mill put up 20 points in the opening frame. PM scored on a
Luke DePasquale touchdown pass to
Ryan Jacobs, a touchdown run by
Devinn Fisher and a touchdown pass by DePasquale to
Mike Reed.
After taking the lead on a DePasquale touchdown pass to Jacobs in the first quarter, Patterson Mill led 33-8 at the half.
PM expanded its lead to 32 points entering the fourth quarter. Patterson Mill scored once in the quarter on a DePasquale touchdown run.
DePasquale was the top performer for PM. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.
Patterson Mill went into the matchup giving up only 12.4 points per game. The 16 points that the Cobras ended with were above their average of 11.0 coming into the game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 19-0 win for PM.
Patterson Mill (3-3) goes up against Edgewood in a Upper Chesapeake Bay - Susquehanna game matchup next week, while Harford Tech (2-4) locks horns with North East also in a Upper Chesapeake Bay - Susquehanna game.
